Adding your business to Google My Business
Step 1: Sign in to Google Business Profile
- Go to the Google Business Profile website.
- Sign in with your Google account. If you don't have one, you'll need to create it.
Step 2: Add Your Business
- Once logged in, click on "Add your business to Google."
- Enter your business name. If it appears in the drop-down menu, your business is already listed. If not, continue to add your business.
Step 3: Enter Your Business Details
- Fill in your business category. Try to choose the most accurate category, which helps Google show your business for the right searches.
- Add your business location if you have a physical location that customers can visit. You can list your service area if you serve customers at their location but don't have a physical location.
Step 4: Contact Information and Delivery Area
- Provide your business phone number and website address so customers can reach you.
- You'll be asked to specify your service areas if you select to deliver goods and services to customers.
Step 5: Verification
- You must verify your business to manage and make changes to your business profile. Google offers several verification methods, including postcard verification, phone verification, email verification, and instant verification (for certain businesses already using Google Tools like Google Search Console).
- Follow the instructions provided for your chosen verification method. The most common method is postcard verification, where you'll receive a postcard at your business address with a verification code within five business days. Once received, enter the code in your Google Business Profile to verify ownership.
Step 6: Customize Your Profile
- After verification, complete your profile by adding more information about your business, such as hours of operation, photos, and additional business details. This will help your profile stand out and provide valuable information to potential customers.
Step 7: Regular Updates and Reviews
- Regularly update your business information and post updates or offers to your profile to engage with customers.
- Respond to reviews and messages from customers to improve engagement and trust.

- Photos and Videos: Profiles with images and videos typically receive more engagement.
